Working in partnership

Work locally

We have six local delivery teams who work with local health and wellbeing boards in each of our 14 local authority areas. These teams also work alongside our 67 primary care networks which are groups of local GP practices, social care teams and other community-based providers including the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector (VCSE).

We are strengthening our collaboration with the VCSE sector to address health challenges and socio-economic determinants of health. By embedding the VCSE sector as an equal partner, our aim is to create a more inclusive, effective, and sustainable health system that addresses inequalities and improves outcomes for all communities.

Our networks and collaboratives

Working in collaboration is key to improving health and care services and we have in place a number of collaborative and networks. Some of these include:

Provider Collaborative brings together the 11 NHS foundation trusts in the region who work together to ensure high quality care and provide the best possible experience for staff.

Primary Care Collaborative - together 2500 GPs, 1700 dentists, 1500 pharmacists and 800 optometrists are working across the region.

Northern Cancer Alliance - leads on reducing inequalities and improving outcomes for anyone affected by cancer.

Child health and wellbeing network brings together people from sectors such as health, education, councils, and the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector to work with and support children, young people and their families.

Learning disability network is working to make the North East and Cumbria the best place in England for people with a learning disability to live.

Local Maternity and Neonatal System is a partnership of organisations who work with women, their families and healthcare staff to improve maternity and neonatal services.
