Happy International Women's Day

Our chief corporate services officer, Claire Riley, wishes everyone a happy International Women's Day.

This year's theme is "Accelerate Action", emphasising the urgency of implementing swift and decisive measures to achieve gender equality.

Kelly Angus, interim chief people officer at North East and North Cumbria ICB shares her NHS journey this International Women’s Day and calls for continued efforts to achieve gender equality in healthcare leadership, encouraging the next generation of women to embrace opportunities and pursue leadership roles with confidence.

Jacqui McBurnie, our menopause lead for North East and North Cumbria shares her story of transitioning from nursing to leading a national Menopause Network. She advocates for menopause awareness, inclusivity, and diverse voices while supporting International Women’s Day.

Here in the North East and North Cumbria we are turning our ambition for women's health into action – using the strength, collaboration, and energy we have, to create our own implementation plan and make the changes we want to see now and for future generations.
