For patients who are housebound, or newly severely immunosuppressed, the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) can help to arrange a vaccination appointment if it cannot be booked in the usual way. If a patient's specialist or GP practice has been unable to organise a vaccination for you, please contact:

COVID-19 Medicines Delivery Unit - new service
From 1 August, eligible Covid-19 patients in the North East and North Cumbria can access treatment through community pharmacies. As part of the NHS Community Pharmacy Independent Prescribing Pathfinder Programme, pharmacists will assess patients remotely, prescribe suitable medicines, and send prescriptions electronically to be dispensed locally.
Patients can be referred by NHS111, a healthcare professional, or can self-refer by emailing ips.nenc.cmdu@nhs.net.
Eligibility:
- At high risk of serious illness from Covid-19
- Have symptoms and a positive Covid-19 test
- Within 5 days of symptom onset and positive test
- Aged 18+
Patients under 18 should be referred to their secondary care consultant.
Flu
The Flu Autumn Winter vaccination programme ended 31 March 2025 and will be available again in Autumn 2025.
