Alcohol support

Help for alcohol problems

No matter where you live, there is help nearby for people with alcohol problems.

Here’s how you can get support:

  • Talk to your GP
Your GP is a good place to start. They can give you confidential advice and refer you for extra support if needed.

  • Find local services
See below to see support services in your area.

  • National support services
There are also national organisations that can help:

    • Drinkline: Call 0300 123 1110 for free advice. Open weekdays 9am–8pm and weekends 11am–4pm.
    • Alcoholics Anonymous (AA): A free support group where people help each other get sober through regular meetings and the "12 step" programme.
    • Al-Anon Family Groups: Support for families and friends of problem drinkers, whether the person is still drinking or not.

Help is always available - reach out today.
