North East and North Cumbria ICB wins PrescQIPP Subscriber of the Year award

#The North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) has been named winner of the 2025 PrescQIPP Subscriber of the Year award, recognising the organisation’s outstanding commitment to quality, collaboration and continuous improvement in medicines optimisation.

The accolade highlights the ICBs outstanding engagement with PrescQIPP, an organisation dedicated to promoting the safer, more effective, and more efficient use of medicines across the NHS, from the effective use of quality-assured resources and data-driven reports to active participation in virtual professional groups, masterclasses, leadership development programmes and the PrescQIPP Champions Network.

The award was presented at the PrescQIPP annual event and awards conference, held in Nottingham on 7 October, where the ICB also received a training prize worth over £1,000, to be used for either e-learning or a virtual therapeutic workshop.

Professor Ewan Maule, ICB director of medicines, said: “We’re delighted to receive this recognition from PrescQIPP which reflects the dedication of our teams across the region, who consistently use data, evidence, and shared learning to improve patient outcomes and promote best practice.

"The award is a testament to their hard work and commitment to quality care and recognises the ICB’s strong partnership with PrescQIPP and commitment to using national resources to drive local improvement, ensuring patients across the North East and North Cumbria receive medicines that are safe, effective, and provide good value."
