Help set the path of research and innovation
Research and innovation partners across the North East and North Cumbria are calling on people to share their views on a new research and innovation strategy which is being developed to support the region's population health and system priorities.
NHS North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) has formed a partnership with some of the region's research and innovation partners - NIHR Applied Research Collaboration North East and North Cumbria; the North of England Commissioning Support Unit; NIHR Clinical Research Network North East and North Cumbria, and Health Innovation North East and North Cumbria, to consider how collectively we can increase the impact of research and innovation across the region.
This work has resulted in the development of a draft research and innovation strategy, which is currently, a purposely, high-level approach. Feedback on this approach will result in a shared strategy that is truly focused upon our combined population health and system priorities.
As a health and care system, we aspire to have learning and improvement at the heart of all we do and have a shared commitment across all partners of ‘being the best at getting better’ for the benefit of our population. Only by listening to our population will we understand what is important and ensure that research and innovation is designed with this at the forefront, and we use this evidence to underpin our work.
Here in the North East and North Cumbria, we are rightly proud of the unique research and innovation infrastructure that exists, which is complemented by the expertise, knowledge, and enthusiasm of our health and care system.
Feedback, ideas, and recommendations are invited to help shape this regional and cohesive approach from organisations and individuals by Thursday 29 February.
