Supporting our armed forces community

We are proud to say that our ICB has signed the Armed Forces Covenant and received the Gold Award as part of the Covenant's employer recognition scheme.

Many NHS bodies have legal responsibilities under the covenant, but we want to go further than that. As Gold Award holders, we have made practical commitments – to act positively toward service personnel during recruitment, to support reservists with their annual training or mobilisation, and to offer additional support for injured servicemen and women and bereaved families where appropriate.

The Covenant is not a charitable commitment – it's a promise to people who serve or have served, to ensure they and their families are treated with fairness and respect, and not disadvantaged in their day-to-day lives.
