Memorandum of Understanding

Partnership pledge for better homes and healthier lives

Many organisations across the North East and North Cumbria have come together to sign a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that strengthens joint working across housing, health and care.

The MOU brings together councils, the NHS, housing associations, care providers and wider partners in a shared commitment to improve homes, support independence and reduce health inequalities across the region.

The MOU covers our joint approach to:

  • Strengthening the links between housing, health and care
  • Aligning commissioning, services and investment to address the wider determinants of health
  • Embedding co-production so that people with lived experience help shape solutions
  • Supporting our three regional priorities:
    • Warm, dry and safe homes
    • Better housing options for older people
    • Improved housing and support for people with complex needs

Who has signed up
