Join our webinars
The programme runs a series of monthly webinars, hosted by the Northern Housing Consortium, for people working across health, housing and care to learn, share best practice and design solutions together.
Join us for 'Supporting older people living with dementia to live independently' on Tuesday 20 May, 10am-12pm online.
The webinar will focus on how health and housing sectors can work together to support older people, particularly those living with dementia, in maintaining their independence and quality of life. The North East and North Cumbria has a high prevalence of dementia diagnosis (above the national average) and increases in dementia-related care admissions. Therefore, the need for integrated approaches to care is becoming even more vital. This session will explore the ways in which housing solutions, health services, and community support can align to promote well-being, prevent isolation, and create safe, dementia-friendly environments. Experts will share innovative strategies and real-world examples of successful collaborations.
Themes that will be explored include:
- The role of housing in promoting health and well-being for older adults
- Designing dementia-friendly living spaces
- Integrated care models: health and housing services working together
- Best practices for supporting carers and families
This session is relevant to anyone working across health, housing and social care
