Spring 2025 COVID-19 vaccinations. Be wise, immunise

Across the North East and North Cumbria our teams are working to vaccinate people against COVID-19 this spring.

The COVID-19 vaccine helps protect against COVID-19, which can be a serious or life-threatening illness.  It's offered on the NHS to people at increased risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19.  From 1 April to 17 June 2025 vaccinations will be available for eligible groups including:

  • adults aged 75 or over
  • those who have been diagnosed with immunosuppression (have a weakened immune system) because of a health condition or treatment aged 6 months to 74 years
  • residents who live in a care home for older adults

How to get the COVID-19 vaccine

The NHS will contact eligible patients in spring 2025.

Covid Vaccinations are available from local NHS services, such as a GP surgery or pharmacy.  There will be different ways to get the vaccine:

Tynehealth Helpline

For patients who are housebound, or newly severely immunosuppressed, the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) can help to arrange a vaccination appointment if it cannot be booked in the usual way.  If a patient's specialist or GP practice has been unable to organise a vaccination for you, please contact:

The Flu Autumn Winter vaccination programme ended 31 March 2025 and will be available again in Autumn 2025.
