Secure Data Environment: Focus group

We want to hear from people living in the North East and North Cumbria about their views on how NHS healthcare records are being used for research and planning.

We have already carried out two surveys with 1500 local people. These surveys have helped us learn more about which groups of people are worried about how health records are shared for research and planning.

We want to understand this in more detail. We’re looking for people to take part in an online focus group. Everyone is welcome, but in particular, we would like to hear from:

  • Women aged between 30 and 59
  • People living in Whitehaven, Workington, Middlesbrough, Northumberland, Newcastle, County Durham and Darlington.

We have spoken to lots of people who are very supportive of their healthcare records being used for research and planning, but we would like to hear more from people who are worried about it, or who might have already opted out.

The focus groups will take place online.

  • Tues 25 Mar 6 - 7.30pm
  • Wed 26 Mar 12.30 – 2pm
  • Thurs 27 Mar 6 - 7.30pm
  • Tues 1 Apr 6 - 7.30pm
  • Wed 2 Apr 6 - 7.30pm
  • Fri 4 April 12.30 – 2pm

Everyone who takes part will get a £40 Love2Shop voucher. Complete this form before midnight on 23 March 2025 if you would like to take part.
