Please see below response on behalf of David Purdue, Executive Chief Nurse.
1. Does your Joint Forward Plan for Durham set out the steps you propose to take to address the particular needs of victims and survivors of abuse?
The Designated Nurse for Safeguarding Children in Durham attends the Sexual Violence Task and Finish Group (a subgroup of Domestic Abuse Sexual Violence Executive Group ). The group is in its infancy but I have attached slides detailing the proposed strategy and delivery plan.
One of the enablers (slide 1) is 'Improve and introduce services through evidence of what works. Value the Victim Survivor Voice and promote co-production'. Slide 2 shows the actions for 'Clear and consistent support pathways for all victims of sexual offences in both current and historic cases'.
Haley Tillson, Police and Commissioning Officer has been leading on this in Durham.
2. You currently don’t yet have the evidence based IRIS/ADViSE programme in your area. How will your proposed steps to address the particular needs of victims of abuse in healthcare settings translate into commissioning services across your ICB footprint?
Please find attached Rape and other Sexual Offences plan on a page.
3. Steve Russell, Chief Delivery Officer at NHSE, recently wrote to you asking you to name an executive and working lead for Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence. Who are your leads?
Executive Lead is David Purdue, Executive Chief Nurse, Integrated Care Board
Operational Leads are the four place based Directors of Nursing for the Integrated Care Board
