Good quality homes with the right support can help people stay out of institutional care, or come out of hospital more quickly.

But housing providers are finding it hard to develop the homes we need, because funding and contracting decisions are often too short-term for their needs.

That's why we're studying levels of supply, demand, workforce and gaps in provision, making it possible to create an integrated housing and care strategy and long-term investment plan for the region. Using integrated models of support, we can reduce the number of people in or at risk of long-term hospital care, by shaping and stimulating the market for supported housing.
