Staff wellbeing hub

Staff wellbeing hub

Our North East and North Cumbria Staff Wellbeing Hub is open to anyone who works in health or social care in our area. We are an easy to access and highly confidential source of support in these challenging times.

While the team is now smaller in size, we can offer support and help to signpost you to the best service for your needs.

How the Hub can help you

The Wellbeing Hub is open to anyone who works in health or social care in the North-East or North Cumbria. Our service is free, easy to access and offers confidential support for any member of staff who needs it.

The support might be needed for challenges at work, at home or both.

When a staff member accesses our Hub, we greet them as a peer and colleague. We aim to understand what is going on in the context of their work and home life, appreciate strengths, and seek to find a way forward that is personal to each staff member. We can meet a number of times if this is helpful.

When we meet for a conversation, we carefully listen and may signpost specific support that will be particularly helpful.

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide ADHD or autism assessments, diagnostic or second opinions, or occupational health assessments.

We try to make it as easy as possible to access free confidential support from one of our experienced staff members.  All you need to do is just:

We are open every weekday, except Bank Holidays. Once we receive your self-referral we will quickly be in touch within a working day or so.

If you need urgent crisis care

We are not able to provide urgent crisis care. If you need immediate support, there are services that can help straight away.

  • SHOUT provides a confidential dedicated 24/7 text service for health and social care staff - Text NHSPH to 85258.
  • You can also call the Samaritans for free on 116 123 (UK and the Republic of Ireland).
  • You can also contact your local mental health crisis service and details of your local service can be found here.

Hub information and resources

The Hub provides support for health and care staff across the region which can be accessed directly by staff or through manager and occupational health or wellbeing service referrals.

We have a range of materials available to help promote the Staff Wellbeing Hub to staff in organisations.
