Great North Care Record: Brand ambassador launch
Great North Care Record (GNCR) brand ambassador Steve Cram has welcomed some of the recently-recruited ambassadors from around the region.
The new ambassadors include clinical and non-clinical staff from various trusts and organisations in the North East and North Cumbria who will help spread the word about the GNCR and provide updates about the programme within their networks.
Steve, a strong advocate for the electronic health and care record, was joined by Graham King, Chief Information Officer, Newcastle Hospitals Trust, and Professor Kath McCourt, vice chair of the trust, to meet the ambassadors.
Delegates heard how the GNCR is going from strength to strength with information about patients being safely and securely shared over 330,000 times every month and how, in 2021, usage grew by over 30 per cent. In addition, all NHS trusts in the region are now on board and more organisations like social care, hospices and local authorities are starting to join.
Steve also spoke passionately about his own personal experiences around his parents when they became ill and how shared care records could have made a huge difference.
