TREE strategy approved
The North East and North Cumbria (NENC) Trusted Research and Evaluation Environment (TREE) will provide a safe and secure data capability to support health and care projects for service improvements, new innovations and research.
The value in the TREE is in bringing together specialists from health, care and academic communities together to focus on regional improvements and challenges, and support our national and international research agenda.
In December 2020 the NENC Integrated Care System (ICS) commissioned the Academic Health Science Network – NENC to produce a TREE strategy for the region. The strategy was developed following a major consultation exercise across the region with health and care partners, plus representatives from all six local universities. In addition the work has been benchmarked against similar ventures across the UK.
This is a significant step forward for the region as work begins on implementation.
