Where to get a walk in Covid-19 booster and flu vaccination in North Cumbria

Those most at risk are encouraged to 'be wise, immunise', and get both their COVID-19 and flu vaccinations this winter.

NHS teams in North Cumbria are urging people at highest risk from the viruses, including everyone aged 65 and over, pregnant women, people aged six  months old and above with high risk health conditions and their household contacts, people with learning disabilities, health and social care workers and unpaid carers – to get both their seasonal vaccines now to ensure they get the protection they need to stay safe this winter.

Dr Helen Horton, GP and clinical lead for the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB), said: "Across North Cumbria we have already delivered more than 75,000 flu and 50,000 Covid-19 vaccinations, which is a great start to our programme, but we still need more people who are eligible to come forward to be vaccinated and get protected.

"We would particularly like to see carers, those at greater risk from respiratory complications and pregnant women coming forward.

"Having your winter vaccines greatly reduces the risk of serious illness and hospitalisation and you're also more likely to have milder symptoms and recover much more quickly if you do catch the viruses."

More sites than ever before are now offering flu and COVID-19 vaccines in North Cumbria, making it easier and more convenient for people to get protected.

Booking is quick and easy and usually takes just a few minutes.

All eligible adults can book both flu and COVID-19 vaccinations by visiting www.nhs.uk/seasonalvaccinations or on the NHS App.

Those who can’t get online can make a booking, at one of the same sites, by calling 119 for free.
