North Tees and Hartlepool consistently rank in the top five performing trusts for A&E performance. The Trust was selected as a pilot site for the new standards, which it continues to be a part of.

It was the first Trust to re-instate Breast Screening services post Covid and one of the first to implement an Integrated Single Point of Access reducing avoidable hospital admissions through partnership working with health and social care partners.

Holdforth Community hub established post-Covid to reduce emergency admissions for DVTs.

University Hospital of Hartlepool restored as a green zone to ensure Covid secure elective pathways. Introduced a shared waiting approach with the Nuffield Stockton to maximise the utilisation of the provision ensure patient requiring elective orthopaedic surgery are treated as quickly as possible as part of the national independent sector Covid contract.

The advanced clinical practitioner model on the UHH site has replaced the traditional Resident Medical Officer approach.

North Tees and Hartlepool first in UK to test new COVID recovery treatment

North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust became the first Trust in the country to use a new COVID-19 recovery treatment on patients.

It is part of a national RECOVERY clinical trial which aims to identify beneficial treatments for people hospitalised with suspected or confirmed COVID-19.
