The purpose of this report is to provide an overview of recent activity carried out by the ICB team, as well as some key national policy updates.

The Board to receive highlight reports and confirmed minutes of the Committees of the Board.
To provide the Board with an overview of the discussions from the Executive Committee meetings in January and February 2024.
To provide the Board with an overview of the discussions at the meeting of the Quality and Safety Committee held in January 2024, including the approved minutes for assurance.
The Board is asked to receive the confirmed minutes of 7 December 2023 and 1 February 2024 for assurance purposes.
The NENC Integrated Delivery Report (IDR) provides an overview of quality and performance, highlighting any significant changes, areas of risk and mitigating actions.
The report uses published performance and quality data covering December 2023 for most metrics and January 2024 for others, unless otherwise specified. Finance data is for January 24 (Month 10).
To provide the Board with an update on the financial performance of the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (NENC ICB) and NENC Integrated Care System (ICS) in the financial year 2023/24 for the period to 31 January 2024.

Questions received from the public on items on the agenda
Question
We would like know how many Physician Associates are already employed, and who being trained for employment for our area of South Tyneside and Sunderland as well as the North East in general. Also we would like to know if the ICB has adopted the BMA standards on Physician Associates.
Response
Physician Associates are employed by hospital trusts and therefore the ICB does not hold any information on such workforce matters. As such, it is not something that the ICB would be able to comment on and your query would need to be raised with the trusts directly for a response.
